As you all know Mother’s Day is coming up and something you might not know is my mom is EXTREMELY special to me!!
I always tell her I’m overly attached and I really feel that being overseas now. So in light of the holiday coming up I thought Id share a funny little story about my mom.
I moved out of my moms house after getting married. I had never lived out of state before and I noticed the more nervous I got the more attached to her I became. When we got there I started to feel homesick all around but I was more mommy-sick than anything!
I had been away for about 2 or 3 months so I obviously decided to post a picture of her on social media! Lol. It was to thank her for how great she is and being my rock. I’m a millennial so the first line of my post was “My mom is so clutch…” and because that was how I spoke at the time I didn’t really think twice about it. I went on to sing her praises under one of my favorite pictures that I’ve ever taken of her.
She was in her warrior stance thanking God for another year (it was her birthday) when I snapped what seemed like 100 more pictures. I remember thinking to myself this is a good post..super fitting!
ME: Hey mom did you see my post about you on social media…I miss you so I shouted you out!!!
MOM: oh yeah I saw it thank you I miss you too, but I think you have a typo in it.
ME: huh? what? a typo…let me check.
I read over the post and saw nothing close to a typo so I asked..where is it? She said so what is clutch!? You mean to tell me you put that on purpose! I laughed for at least 5mins then proceeded to explain that clutch meant “exactly what you need when you need it” and of course that made her laugh too as we realized just how much confusion lies between our generations.
Anyway…I just wanted to take the time out to say Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful mother’s, grandmothers, sisters, aunts, and any woman out there that supports and cares for someone!! I hope you all enjoy your day to be celebrated!! You are loved and deserve all of the recognition in the world, because there is no tougher job than being a mom!
